FREEDOM'S LAND
Dedicated to the children, families, victims and first responders of 9/11, Freedom's Land celebrates the enduring spirit of freedom and resilience of the human spirit to triumph over adversity. This original version of Freedom's Land was released when the Statue of Liberty was reopened in 2009.
Freedom's Land was written with the dream that one day, all of us will live in peace on this beautiful earth and sing, "I live in Freedom's Land"... the land of one's heart.
War may rage, right to my door
Like so many times before
Out of the dark, comes one more strike
Breaks the heart of the world, turns day into night
But I live in Freedom’s Land
Born and raised in Freedom’s Land
Your hometown is where you stand
A friend is always close at hand
Deep in the heart of Freedom’s Land
Part of a greater plan…
The Lady still holds her flame to the sky
Years may pass, it’s still easy to cry
She can see what a price we had to pay
For those we lost and still remember every day
But I live in Freedom’s Land
I’ve seen things I can’t understand
Let’s end Man’s inhumanity to Man
